The Mills Barn Wedding Venue | Wedding | Photography | Bridgnorth

The Mills Barn Wedding Venue, wow what a superb place to get married and on Thursday 29th July I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of Rebecca and Leon.

On the website of The Mills Barn, it states,

“The Mills Barn Wedding Venue is one of the country’s only purpose built wedding venue”

Formerly the site of a 17th century water mill there are not many barn wedding venues that offer such a picturesque waterfront setting. On the Shropshire, Worcestershire border close to Warwickshire and Staffordshire in the West Midlands, The Mill Barns sit on the banks of a key tributary to the River Severn surrounded by glorious English countryside.

I arrived the day before and stayed the night because of the distance to travel there. This was to allow me and my colleague a chance to take a look around the venue and get some ideas for photo opportunities. As a wedding photographer, I am very particular about what I do and like to plan the day with the couple, not just turn up (especially to a new venue) and not plan the day with them. I was also able to meet Rebecca and Leon the same morning at the venue and even gave them a hand to unload their van of the wedding decor (mostly of drink) in preparation for the wedding the following day, before heading off to a nearby coffee shop.

I had never meet Rebecca or Leon before this day and only ever spoken on the phone, to say we got on well was an understatement. I would best describe them as an awesome couple who simply wanted me to basically do what I do on a wedding day and that is capture perfect moments and create beautiful images. The most important thing for me is that couples are able to relax and have fun during the day, especially when we go off to do portraits for them. To say we had a laugh was an understatement. Brilliant fun with plenty of laughs was the perfect recipe for the day.

It was also great to be photographing over in England with restrictions now lifted which allowed people to dance and sing the night away. How I have missed this part of the wedding so much. A great way to finish off the night.

Below are a few preview images from the day which I can honestly say was superb. If you were there yourself you will agree.

Big thanks to my colleague Johnathan from Cross-Jones Photography for yet again all your hard work
